Mayor's Corner

December 2016

The holidays are here and we are once again closing in on the end of another year. The Town Board, Staff, and the Citizens of Lochbuie have a lot to be proud of. Our town is flourishing!

I can think of no better way to usher in the new year than with our Town Hall Grand Opening. I encourage all Lochbuie Residents to attend, it will be held Saturday, December 3rd at 10:00 a.m. There will be BBQ brought to you by a new Lochbuie company, Sweet Penelope'z BBQ.

This new Town Hall building is a milestone for Lochbuie and is only the beginning. The board and staff have a number of upcoming projects we are currently working on. One large item is a stop light at WCR 37 and Road 2. You will also see within the next couple of months some streetscape happening on WCR 37. The first of which will be street lighting. The board is dedicated to improving the look of Lochbuie all while continuing our endeavor to attract good sustainable businesses which allow our citizens to shop where they live. This is our ultimate goal.

We (the Town Board) would like to thank you (the residents of Lochbuie) and congratulate you for your efforts during the election. Our voter turnout was almost three times our largest in the towns history. Your efforts have made it possible for Hudson/Lochbuie Fire to remain a full time fully staffed firehouse. You have also given the School District the tools needed to build a new elementary school in Lochbuie as well as maintain the school we currently have. I thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you on Saturday, December 3rd.
