Town Board Approves 2018 Sewer Rates

Lochbuie has been experiencing a substantial amount of growth and meeting the needs for water and wastewater has been a concern of the Town. The Plant Investment Fees support infrastructure associated with new development as well as the improvement of current infrastructure. In May of 2016 the Lochbuie Municipal Sewer Board and the Town Board of Trustees undertook a study of the wastewater treatment plant and sewer system capital improvement needs and rates.

The study identified many capital improvements needed over the next several years and the sewer rate increases will help to fund these important improvements needed to maintain the Towns' infrastructure. The study was presented to and considered by both Boards on May 19, 2016 and it was determined in the best interest of the Town to raise the fees to defray costs associated with the wastewater systems. Some of the capital improvements to the wastewater systems over the next four years include a video assessment of the collection system, ongoing cleaning and videoing, sewer line repairs, brush system for clarifiers, update to the UV system, influent pump station upgrades and SCADA upgrades.

Effective with the first meter reading (rates to be applied to all usage measured at such reading) in January, 2018, sewer user base and volumetric rates shall be as follows:
