State regulations require all community water systems to monitor for lead and copper in drinking water. Unlike other contaminant monitoring, the samples for lead and copper testing must come from regularly used cold water taps inside customers’ homes. Starting in 2018 the Town of Lochbuie is required to collect 40 Lead and Copper samples twice a year (January-June & July-December) based on the criteria below. The Town Water and Wastewater Contract Operator (Ramey Environmental Compliance, Inc.) will be handing out bottles and sample collection procedures to the 40 homes that met the criteria starting the week of January 15th and will continue to until all 40 samples have been collected.
