The Town has determined that encouraging artistic and cultural opportunities within the Town or in close proximity thereto furthers a valid public purpose therefore the Town established the Arts and Cultural Advisory Committee.
The Committee shall promote and encourage the development, public awareness of and interest in the fine and performing arts in the Town and its environs; advise the Board of Trustees in connection with all matters relating to the artistic and cultural development of the Town; perform such other functions associated with the arts as the Town Board Trustees may from time to time direct; report to the Board regularly at the Board’s request on activities of the Committee and make recommendations to the Town Board of Trustees with respect to annual budget appropriations for the arts; Assist in the preparation of applications for grants or other sources of funding for arts programs for the Town; and Advise and consult with local arts groups as requested by such groups or by the Town Board of Trustees.
